How We Made Hosting Feel Less Intimidating & More Fun
The Host Playbook is an 8club hosting manual disguised as a cookbook.
Created as a playful introduction to 8club’s ambassador program, the project was designed to help people understand hosting, why it matters, what people gain from it, and how bringing others together can slowly build identity, recognition, and community.
Using food metaphors, retro diner-inspired visuals, and editorial storytelling, the playbook reframed hosting as something social and rewarding rather than intimidating or transactional.

Working on this made me step outside my usual design approach and lean more into storytelling, humour, and personality. It turned out to be one of the most enjoyable projects I’ve worked on.
